Introducing our new CISO
We are excited to announce Brent Deterding has joined Afni as Chief Information Security Officer (CISO). Deterding will supervise and be responsible for our information and data security strategy, practices, and policies in this role.
Deterding is a veteran of the information security industry with over 20 years of professional experience. For the past 19 years, he’s worked for Secureworks, a leading global cybersecurity firm, where he has served as their Global Solution Lead since 2019.
As CISO, Deterding will ensure security risks are identified, assessed, and mitigated; lead efforts to prevent and respond to security threats; implement threat modeling; and oversee areas including disaster recovery, business resilience, governance, and more.

Deterding is a Certified CISO who earned a bachelor’s degree in computer science from the University of Missouri. He lives in northern Illinois with his wife and three sons. He and his family are involved in their church and have a passion for adoption and foster care.
