Sarah Powell Joins NASP Board of Directors
Afni is proud to celebrate Sarah Powell, Vice President of Sales, on her appointment to the National Association of Subrogation Professionals (NASP) Board of Directors. Sarah’s selection reflects not only her personal expertise but also Afni’s growing leadership and influence within the subrogation industry.
With more than 15 years of experience, Sarah is a dynamic force at Afni – driving lead generation, new business acquisition, and strategic growth across multiple industry verticals. She’s known for cultivating an energizing, people-first environment that empowers teams to deliver exceptional results.
Before joining Afni, Sarah practiced as a civil defense attorney and spent eight years with Country Financial, building a deep understanding of insurance operations. Her professional achievements include being named one of Bloomington-Normal’s Top 20 Under 40, serving as President of the Heartland Community College Foundation Board, and now helping shape the future of subrogation through NASP leadership.
“NASP has elevated the importance of subrogation across insurance and legal communities,” Sarah shared. “It’s the trusted source for knowledge, innovation, and advocacy – and a community that brings professionals together to strengthen and advance our field.”
For Sarah, NASP has been both a professional and personal cornerstone. “I haven’t missed a conference since joining Afni,” she said. “It’s where I’ve built lasting friendships and gained insights that have helped me grow. Of all the organizations I’ve been part of, none have influenced my career or my life more than NASP.”
As a new board member, Sarah is eager to give back and help NASP continue its mission of education, advocacy, and networking. “I’m especially passionate about helping members connect and share ideas,” she said. “Networking is at the heart of what I do at Afni, and I want to bring that same energy to NASP.”
Sarah sees the future of NASP, and Afni’s role within it, as bright and full of opportunity. “As technology continues to reshape the subrogation landscape, NASP will remain a thought leader. Together, we’ll ensure subrogation is recognized not just as a recovery function, but as a strategic driver of business success,” she said.
Her advice to NASP members, and her Afni colleagues, is simple: “Get involved. Stay curious. Share ideas. Growth happens when we connect.”
