Afni Names Mike Schwermin Vice President of Information Technology and Chief Information Officer
Afni announces Mike Schwermin is its new Vice President and CIO. In his new role, Mike is responsible for global information technology solutions and strategy.
“Mike has been with Afni for nearly 18 years and has been a part of many changing technologies. His commitment and contribution to Afni’s global success has been clear to see,” said Steve Czirjak, Chief Financial Officer. “Mike has risen through the organization by combining excellent technical skills, business sense, customer service attitude, and leadership abilities. This promotion is well deserved.”
Mike joined Afni in 1998 as a network engineer. Over time, he expanded his technical and leadership skills to grow his career, stepping up the ranks of the IT organization. Most recently, he was Executive Director of Information Technology.
Prior to joining Afni, he earned a degree in Computer Science from Hawaii Pacific University and was a Sergeant, Active Duty in the United States Marine Corps.
Mike lives in Pekin, Illinois with his family including wife Alissa and four sons. He enjoys a wide variety of sports, coaching his sons’ teams, and spending time on the beach with family. Congratulations Mike!
Geof Knoerzer, previously Vice President and CIO, will retire effective April 1, 2016. Geof joined Afni in 2011 and has been an influential contributor to our ongoing success.
“I’d like to thank Geof for all that he has brought to Afni. Our IT organization has progressed significantly under his direction and is in a strong position to continue to evolve and respond to the ever-changing needs of the business,” Steve said.
